A1's First "Scored" Competition

A1 had her first competition here in Norway where she received scores and they gave out trophies for the overall scores. It has been hard for her since in the states you get scored and trophies or medals for your overall place and if you place on an individual apparatus.  She has worked very hard to get new skills for this competition.  Three of the four routines were new.  We are very proud of her.  The competition did not start off well for her, but she kept her composure and did very well.

A1 Place first in the 11 year old group.  She competed against 37 other girls.  This was the Norway Cup competition.  There were girls from all over Norway.

The girls have made many friends at the club.  They are learning Norwegian and will have wonderful memories to take back to the states.  We are all trying to learn Norwegian, so the girls help us when we pronounce words wrong.

I did not get to watch her because I was judging vault.  I am really enjoying judging.  I will be judging again in April and maybe May.

A2 is doing well in her gymnastics as well.  She is learning new skills and will compete in a few weeks.  She will not get to compete like A1 since she will not turn 11 while we are here.  they have a different way of doing things for the younger girls.  7-10 year olds can compete, but they only get good, better, best.  They get scored, but the coaches only see them.

Thanks for reading and may God bless you.
